I am currently on week 5 (of 12) of my Lamisil oral treatment for toe-nail fungus and experienced a bout of breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at a time in cycle when i shouldn’t be) after intercourse with my hubby. Has anyone experienced this before? I have noticed this on the list of possible side effects, but wanted to make sure that no one has found that the bleeding leads to something worse….
I have never had this occur with Lamisil but did have it happen when I had a yeast infection. I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation to see what they say.
My small toe, I guess it’s the "pinky toe" turned yellow and know it is gray/white. I am a very clean person so this fungus didn’t seem right… Well, I wanted to know if there are effective alternates to cure it. I don’t want to take a medicine that can damage my liver, but I don’t want an ugly toenail either.
Toe nail fungus remedy using tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is a potent natural antiseptic and fungicide that will help fight your fungus. Apply undiluted tea tree oil with olive oil to the affected toe nail. Alternatively you can put few drops of tea tree oil on toenails and rub it thoroughly every day.
Using Listerine mouthwash
Soak your toes in Listerine mouthwash. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toe nails looking healthy.
Curing toe nail fungus using warm water and natural apple cider vinegar
Soak your toenails for 15 – 20 minutes in basin full of warm water and natural apple cider vinegar mixed in equal proportion. When done, dry your toenails thoroughly. Use a hair dryer on warm setting to absorb all the moisture in and around the toes
Tea tree oil and Lavender oil
Put equal amount of tea tree oil and lavender oil on a cotton ball or swab. Dab it under the top edge of the toe nail and surrounding area 2 or 3 times a day. Tea tree oil is natural antibiotic and lavender will help fight the infection and prevent skin irritation
Using Oregano and Olive oil
Blend 2 drops of Oregano essential oil with a tsp of olive oil. Apply this mixture on the affected area daily for NOT more than three weeks. Oregano essential oil has antiseptic, antibacterial, antiparasitical, antiviral, analgesic and antifungal properties
AHA creams
Lather AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) creams on to your feet before going to bed. This will flush the rough scaly skin from your feet that is more prone to growing fungus
Does anyone know of a REAL home remedy or anything else thay you can take to cure nail fungus for once and for all!!! Pleae only mature answers.
I had a doctor tell me Tea Tree Oil or Vics Vapor Rub twice a day for approximately 8-12 months works. You have to apply the stuff on the nail & the skin around the top of the nail (where the fungus starts). You can track your results by measuring the distance between the top of the nail and where the fungus starts on the nail. as you apply the oil and periodicly trim your nails you should see the fungus begin to reduce itself, and obviously try and keep your feet or hands clean and dry. good luck!
I have tried everything to cure my toe nail fungus with no success. Yesterday, I was in the salon and a someone who works there specializing in foot care, sold me a topical liquid that she said was a secret miracle cure that she guaranteed would get rid of my nail fungus in less than a month. Well, she filed down and cut the nails and put a drop on each nail. She sold me the bottle for about $150.00. I am amazed that today, the very next day, the nails look incredibly better. They have returned to their white color and everything. My concern is this… I am not usually a believer in miracle cures., and now i am worried that there might be something dangerous to my health in this solution. Does anyone know if a topical treatment can be dangerous? I have checked the interent and there doesn’t seem to be any miracle cures out there.
After getting recurring ingrown toe nails partially due to nail fungus, and recently developed a nasty fungal infection in my left big toe, I went online searching for an alternative to precription meds that really works and I’ve found it!
It’s made by a well-known natural product co. called,"Jason" and it’s called,"No Fungus Among Us Nail Care – Nail Saver."
Not only was there something reminiscent of pus eminating from underneath the nail, but there was a blackish/green discoloration under part of the nail and the nail was starting to detach itself from the nail bed, along with some throbbing pain. This was not an ingrown nail, since I’ve had many in my life.
My nail is now reattached to the nail bed, no more pus liquid, pain and the discoloration is almost back to normal!
I purchased it from www.mothernature.com for less than $6!
Goes on like nail polish around cuticles, etc.
And it contains all natural ingredients-very safe.
Highly recommended. At the mothernature web site, other customers have reviewed this product with amazing results.
rub it with tea tree oil and colloidal silver. take multi vitamins to boost your immune system so it can help fight off the infection
I think I have caught a fungi toe infection.
I swim alot and think i may have caught it from the swimming baths
Both of my big toenails are slightly a discoloured brown/yellow colour and white/yellow in the corner and they are slightly painful when walking, etc.
I have been told that the doctors will not be able to provide treatment for this as the only one available can cause kidney and liver infections so i’d rather avoid that.
I was just wondering if anyone has ever expierienced this before, what caused it, how long it lasted and if there are any home remedies or things to treat it, such as tea tree oil etc?
thanks!
i have had a fungal toe infection for years doctors kept giving me different treatments the last one i was supposed to use twice a week for a whole year it is called loceryl there is also another treatment but they did not want to give it to me as it could have caused damage to the liver. I have heard that teatree oil is effective as it is anti fungal
I’ve heard listerine or Absorbine Jr. Goodluck. If its a fingernail; and you got the fungus from a nail shop, you can buy OTC antifungal creams and apply twice daily.
Fall is approaching and, wanna wear sandals summer of 2010. Help Me Please!!!
you definitely need to get rid of fungus!
Getting rid of finger nail fungus is easier in some ways, and more difficult in others. Many people will act on a finger nail infection long before they will start asking how to get rid of toe nail fungus, simply because toes can be kept out of sight, but ugly fingernails are a daily embarrassment. People start getting rid of finger nail fungus before the infection is too far advanced. However, it’s much harder to get a topical treatment to stay on a fingernail when you’re using your hands all the time, and it’s much harder to sit for 15 to 30 minutes every day with your hands soaking in a solution.
Pick any method for getting rid of finger nail fungus, or any advice on how to get rid of toe nail fungus. If you do any reading, you will quickly discover that all methods are fickle. VapoRub works for some and not for others. Stories of success with a vinegar soak abound; so do stories of failure. Some lucky people report success in weeks; some stress that you may have to keep at it for a year or more. Even the prescription medications have a relatively poor success rate. The bottom line is that curing nail fungus infection is difficult.
for me and my husband worked very well ZetaClear! I think it is the fastest way to get rid of fungus! Nail fungus is tough to treat. The extracts in zetaclear provide the most powerful therapeutic effect for healthy looking nails.
Obviously, you can’t spray herbicide on your feet or hands! The next best thing is Zetaclear. It’s made from all-natural homeopathic ingredients. This product works time after time and results are guaranteed. This extra strength solution is designed to be as aggressive and strong as possible, without causing irritation.
It worked fast and still works for me!
I do not know if any pharmacies carry ZetaClear but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.zetaclear.com/?aid=221781
Please tell brand-name and also generic-name of medicine as medication for fungus under thumb-nail?
I soak them in Hydrogen peroxide..but once when i was really in a hurry I used bleach mildly and hot soapy water..just a little bit and it worked just fine,..but usually, hydrogen peroxide soak will do the job.
